In Red Maple Baroque, I move closer into the landscape, filling the canvas with an exuberant mass of pink and crimson foliage. Loose, layered brushstrokes allow individual leaves to emerge and disappear, while flashes of green beneath them create depth and movement.

The title reflects the painting’s sense of abundance and theatricality. Rather than depicting the tree precisely, I wanted to capture the experience of being overwhelmed by its color—the richness, energy, and almost extravagant beauty of nature at its most expressive.
